Color-changing mugs are usually made of ceramic, stoneware opalescent glazes or glass, all of which are non-toxic. Since the material of color-changing mugs is safe, is there any harm in the manufacturing process?
Thermo-sensitive volatile discoloration — The process of discoloration involves two parts: an outer cup and an inner cup. The cups are arranged in a coaxial way, and a sandwich chamber is made between the two cups, which is filled with a thermo-sensitive volatile liquid. In this way, when hot water is poured into the mug, the thermosensitive liquid will produce color changes, and the outer wall of the inner cup is engraved with graphic channels. Color changes make the cup wall show graphics, so the mug will appear patterns due to the change of water temperature, which is harmless and safe.
Thermal transfer color – thermal transfer process used for machining of ceramic mug and glass mugs, first on the finished mugs spraying a layer of special transparent resin color paper, after the chosen design decorative pattern, that is use in printing or ink jet printer will design printed on special paper, use the ink must be special thermal sublimation ink. After the image is printed, the special paper is heated by a certain pressure and temperature. Finally, the text and text are transferred to the ceramic cup or glass coated with resin paper. Because the ink used is heat sensitive thermochromic ink, so the temperature rise pattern will show, and because the color change process is reversible, this ink is also known as “reversible color fading ink.” The water inside the mug is made of ceramic or glass without ink, which is not harmful to the human body.
